In 2016, Ireland along with 193 member-states of the World Health Organisation (WHO) committed to eliminating viral hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030. Current estimates suggest we are 21 years behind reaching this goal. 

Our Hep C Champions

Our champions are members of civil and professional society who have identified their support to ensuring Ireland delivers a cascade of care for HCV that upholds best practice guidelines as outlined by the WHO. They are committed to ensuring Ireland's efforts to make Hepatitis C a rare disease by 2030.

Shared Care

Expand treatment beyond hospitals & move toward local level community based care 

Ease of Testing

Initiate the diagnosis of Hepatitis C in one sitting with rapid antibody screening. 

Measurement

Initiate an annual reporting programme which provides a cumulative overview & elimination progress.

Avert Progression

Identity patients before costly progression of the disease through inclusion with other programmes
